Hand-thrown in Toff Milway’s Conderton workshop in Gloucestershire, this salt-glazed stoneware jug is a quiet study in balance, proportion, and craft. Standing 215mm high and 110mm at its widest point, it has a rounded body that tapers elegantly to a narrow neck and hand-pulled spout, finished with a sculpted handle and fitted lid.

The surface bears the hallmark of Toff’s firing process - rich, variegated tones of warm ochre, toffee, and ash brown, with soft flashes of charcoal where the salt vapour has kissed the clay. A small raised dot motif on the shoulder adds a simple, tactile detail that anchors the form.

Equally suited to use or display, this jug embodies Toff’s philosophy that pottery should serve daily life while celebrating the elemental beauty of clay, glaze, and fire.
